Lemon Drizzle Cake!

The other day I decided to make Lemon Drizzle cake. I'd never made it before, although it is one of my favourite cakes, but heard it was really easy to make so thought I'd give it a go.

The Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 170g Self Raising Flour
  • 170g Caster Sugar
  • 170g Butter
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 110g Icing sugar
  • 2 Lemons

Method:

Mix together the eggs, flower, sugar, butter, baking powder and the zest of two lemons.

Stir the mixture into it is smooth!

Add the mixture to the tin and then pop it into the oven at 180 degrees, for 30 - 45 minutes. (it depends on how thick your tin is)

whilst the cake is baking you can make the drizzle. This is simply done by mixing together the juice of 2 lemons and icing sugar.

Once the cake is baked, take it out, leave it to cool a little and then poke holes all over the cake then pour over the drizzle.

And that's it! ENJOY!

Trust me it tasted amazing, I couldn't stop eating it, I'd defintaley recommend for you to try this at home!

Girly Date!

I thought it would be nice to blog my lovely girly evening out with one of my bestfriend's, including my getting ready process and also some pictures of the evening. I hope you like it!

The first step of my getting ready process is always a lovely hot bubble bath! Bath's are like my favourtie thing, so calming! Usually I would have a nice candle or two lit, but on this occasion I was in a bit of a rush so skipped it.

Next I moisturize my skin, these are my two favourite products! I have been using Soap and Glory - The Righteous Butter for about a year now and I love it, it leaves my skin so lovely and soft. I recently started to use the Vaseline moisturizer and I already love it, the smell is so good and it also leaves my skin so soft! What I like to do is mix the two together and moisturize!
After I do my make up, which is probably the part I love most about getting ready to go out. I love experimenting and seeing how it turns out and I don't know why but I find applying make up so relaxing! Here are just a few products I regularly use.
Here is my finished eye make up! My aim was a simple, effortless yet pretty look! I used MAC bronze eye shadow all over my lid and a litter bit under the eye, L'Oreal Super Liner - Ultra Precision to do winged eyeliner and finally Soap and Glory Thick and Fast lashes.
This is my overall finished make up look for the evening. On my skin I used MAC face and body foundation, Rimmel London Match Perfection Powder and finally MAC sweet as coca blush. On my lips I simply used Vaseline.

Here is my outfit for the evening, I wore a black bodycon dress which is actually backless from Miss Selfridge, however I wanted to make it more casual so covered it up with this kimono type thing from primark, I accessorised with this statement necklace from New Look ( I can't actually find it online, sorry!) and on my feet a classic white pair of converse!

We ate at one of my favourite restaurants - Coast to Coast, I had a refreshing Pink lemonade to drink and ate a BBQ pulled pork wrap with sweet potato fries and homemade coleslaw. I had a lovely evening, so nice to catch up full of laughs, such a nice way to start Easter!

I hope you liked this style of post,

A few new buys!

Okay so I'm finally doing this post! I've had it planned for a long time but I've been really busy and haven't had time to actually do it! But it's here now.

So I went shopping in Milton Keynes (I also have one item from Missguided) and picked up only a couple of bits but I really wanted to share them because I just love them so much! So here they are...

The first Item I bought was this lush fishnet bodysuit from Nicole's range at Missguided, I was so buzzing when her range came out and when I saw this I fell in love, It's not something I would usually buy but I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone, and I'm glad I did!
Here's how I wore it to a concert last week!

The next Item I bought was a cute skort from Zara (I can't actually find it on the website, sorry!) It was the gorgeous colour which caught my attention! I usually stick to dark colours but with it being spring I thought it would be nice to add a splash of colour to my wardrobe!

I spotted this gorgeous skirt in river island, I really love wearing white at the moment and I thought this skirt was simple and classic and I loved the little golden detail, it was a must have for me!

My final item was this beautiful pallet from benefit! I really needed a new neutrals pallet and I saw this and thought it was perfect, I love the packaging and the colours are so gorgeous and I can't wait to wear them!

Promise I'll post soon, Leannda x
